Premature greying Questions
Premature greying
Question
When does the hair start to go grey, and what can be done to prevent or cover the grey?
Answer
You cannot prevent grey hair. Once the melanin and pheomelanin stop producing colour pigments your hair will become white. A combination of white hair and coloured hair appears to be grey.
You can of course colour the hair to reduce the appearance of grey. You will only need to use permanent hair colour if you have more than 50% grey. Other than that there are gentler products available. You should ask your stylist for the best option for you.
